I started writing ROAR 5 years ago and the first story I wrote was “The Woman Who Slowly Disappeared” and at the time I was just writing one short story. I had no plans to do a collection of stories, but 5 stories in I realised that the stories belonged together. Sometimes magazines or newspapers would ask for a short story and I’d go to one of those stories and I felt I couldn’t give it away, I realised they belong together and while they were all very different stories they were thematically linked and belonged together.
